Here to help in your time of need.

Bikur Cholim is the Hebrew term for “visiting the sick”. It is a phrase that has come to encompass a large spectrum of activities that are performed by an individual or a group in order to provide support and comfort to people who are ill, and/or otherwise in distress. The Torah tells us that Hashem himself performed the mitzvah of Bikur Cholim by visiting Avraham while he was recuperating from his circumcision (Breishis 17:26-18:1). Additionally, each morning in the Shacharis prayers we include Bikur Cholim as an example of “one of the precepts of which a person enjoys their fruits in this world, but whose principal remains intact for him in the World to Come.”

The Bikur Cholim of Passaic – Clifton is a volunteer driven, not-for-profit organization whose mission is to help ensure that Bikur Cholim is carried out with grace and compassion. We also strive to address the more far reaching concerns of individuals and families in the community as they relate to health and wellness. We provide many crucial services to residents of the Passaic-Clifton Jewish community and have included detailed explanations of each of these services on the Our Services page to help educate the community about our programs and ongoing initiatives.

The Bikur Cholim is endorsed by the Rabbis of the Passaic-Clifton community.
